The 22th Nafplion Festival kicks off at Fougaro in Nafplion
Friday, June 21, 2013
The music of the Odyssey & 11 musically interpreted poems by K.P.Kavafis at Fougaro in Nafplio.
The event starts at 9.00 pm
This year's Nafplion Festival opens with a tribute to the Greek poetic creation -from ancient times until modern times. Theodore Economou, composer of the music for the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games in 2004, performs his own compositions in the presence of a famous Greek actress: Lydia Koniordou. The first part consists of the original soundtrack of the show "Odyssey", created by the renowned Robert Wilson, while Lydia Koniordou interprets the songs. In the second part, a new formulation of a musical universe will be presented in which 11 set to music poems by K.P.Kavafis will emerge, bringing the audience closer to the great poet even 150 years after his birth.
Interpretation: Lydia Koniordou
Piano and interpretation: Thodoris Oikonomou
