Musical performance of Nafplion's Festival Ensemble
Sunday, June 23, 2013
Musical performance of Nafplion's Festival Ensemble at St.George's square in Nafplion.
The event starts at 9.00 pm
The Nafplion Festival Ensemble will be presenting, the particularly demanding, Mendelssohn’s sextet as well as the orchestral suite from the opera “Porgy and Bess” – an artistic triumph, both by musical and human standards, full of anti-racist meanings, composed by George Gershwin. The acclaimed violinist and artistic director of the Festival of Cyclades Yannos Margaziotis, the principle double bass of the Greek National Opera Vassilis Papavasileiou, the principle violinist of the Athens State Orchestra Appolon Grammatikopoulos, encounter the holder of the “Richard Wagner” scholarship Ai Motohashi, the soloist of the Odense Symphonic Orchestra Rafael Altino, the cellist of the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra Jaani Helander and a prominent figure of the clarinet, the world renowned Frenchman Michel Lethiec. A night where the collaboration of Greek and foreign musicians is as impressive as it sounds.
