Angelica Cathariou and Nikos Athinaios perform live in Nafplion

Tuesday, June 25, 2013 The mezzo soprano Angelica Cathariou and the pianist Nikos Athinaios perform live at Vouleftiko in Nafplion. The event starts at 9.00 pm Angelica Cathariou who has performed at some of the most prestigious concert venues and festivals, like the Carnegie Hall and Concertgebouw of Amsterdam, meets one of the most famous Greek conductors. This time not conducting -as usually- but being the pianist of the concert. Nikos Athinaios, the first ever artistic manager of the Thessaloniki Concert Hall, after a great career both in Greece and especially abroad, has devoted himself to composing. A small sample of his work will be presented, among works by Weil, Stravinsky, Montsalvatge that will liven up memories of the 20th century through the voice of the distinguished mezzo.
